Veterans Day originated as "Armistice Day” on November 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and November 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938.
"The brave man is he who overcomes not only his enemies but his pleasures”
"It is well that war is so terrible, else we should grow too fond of it."
- General
"Out of every 100 men, ten shouldn't even be there, eighty are just targets, nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they will make the battle. Ah, but the one is a warrior and he will bring the others back."
