 VFW POST 12186
Oldsmar

VFW Post 12186 is the latest of 12 posts in District 21. It was several years in obtaining the "unclaimed" area between SR 50 to SR 580 and US 41 to I75 (approximately) and having it be assigned to District 21. Then the task of reaching out to the community and it's veterans to create a VFW Post took more than another year.

It all came to fruition on April 18th, 2019 with an installation ceremony lead by then State Commander Danny Anderson. Also in attendance were Past State Commander Ken Core, Gene Perrino and Christine Harris from Department HQ, District 21 Commander Gene Dale, Oldsmar City Councilwoman Linda Norris, members of the Veterans Council, and other prominent city leaders and business people. Most important of all were the new charter members of Post 12186. One of which even attended via video from South Korea.

Today VFW Post 12186 continues the missions of serving veterans and their families, serving, educating, and enhancing the Oldsmar community in everything from Americanism to Veterans Affairs. We serve the living by honoring the dead. We remember in hopes we will not have to repeat. We support those serving, honor those who have served, and encourage those who will one day serve.

We encourage and welcome those who can to join our ranks. Be it as a veteran member or a VFW Auxiliary member. Everyone is encouraged to join, participate, or support us as we support others.

God Bless you. God Bless the City of Oldsmar. God Bless America

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) is pleased to announced David Bear has achieved All-American status as a Post commander. To achieve this honor, Post commanders must meet strict requirements in their role to include exceptional leadership, authentic accomplishment in membership growth and strong support of VFW core programs.

Commander Bear, a Gold Legacy Life member and commander of Post 12186 in Oldsmar, Florida, is one of 251 VFW Post commanders worldwide to earn the title of All-American Commander.
